*Fume

Verb) 화가 나서) 씩씩대다, 연기[매연]를 내뿜다

: to be very angry, sometimes without expressing it

:Fumes are the unpleasant and often unhealthy smoke and gases 

that are produced by fires or by things such as chemicals, fuel, or cooking

-  you've ruined pizza! first the hawaiians and now you! Anger fumed.

 

 

 

*Kneel

Verb) 무릎을 꿇다

: When you kneel, you bend your legs 

so that your knees are touching the ground.

-  As Dad kenlt to get the shot, the car started to roll down the hill behind him.

 

*Chuckle

Verb) 빙그레[싱긋] 웃다

: to laugh quietly

-  The Emotions chuckled as Riley enjoyed the memory.

 

*Gaze

Verb) (가만히) 응시하다[바라보다] (=stare)

 

*Gaze land

Verb) 시선이 쏠리다

: to look at something or someone for a long time

especially in surprise or admiration, or because you are thinking about something else

-  Her gaze landed on Sadness, who was standing right next to the memory.

 

*Stammer

Verb) 말을 더듬다 (=stutter)

: If you stammer, you speak with difficulty, hesitating and repeating words or sounds.

- "I',m-I'm sorry, Joy." Sadness stammered.

 

 

 

*Banister

Noun) 난간

: the row of posts at the side of stairs and the wooden or metal bar on top of them

- Riley sat on the banister, about to fly down.

 

 

 

*Crooked

adjective) 비뚤어진, 구부러진 (↔straight)

: that it is bent or twisted. (↔straight)

: not forming a straight line, or having many bends

- "It looked like one was crooked, so i opened it and then it fell out."

 

*Refer to something

Verb) (정보를 알아내기 위해) …을 보다

: to look at something for information

- Sadness said, reffering to a core memory.

 

*Admit

Verb) (무엇이 사실임을 마지못해) 인정[시인]하다 (=confess)

: to agree that something is trueespecially unwillingly

- "I wnated to maybe hold one." Sadness admitted.

 

*Gasp

Verb) 숨이 턱 막히다, 헉 하고 숨을 쉬다

: to take a shortquick breath through the mouth

especially because of surprisepain, or shock

- As the other Emotions gastped, Joy grabbed Sadness's hand

before she could remove it.

 

 

 

*Awful

Adjective) 끔찍한, 지독한

: extremely bad or unpleasant

- "I keep making mistakes like that. I'm awful."

 

*Puddle

Noun) (특히 비 온 뒤의) 물 웅덩이

: a small pool of liquid on the groundespecially from rain

 

 

 

*Soggy

adjective) 질척한, 질척거리는

: (of things that can absorb waterespecially food)

unpleasantly wet and soft

 

 

 

*Droopy

adjective) 축 늘어진, 수그린; [구어] 지친, 의기소침한

: bending or hanging down heavily:soft

 

*Shivery

adjective) (추위·두려움·병 등으로 몸을) 떠는

shaking slightly because you feel coldfrightened, or ill:

- While Joy saw the rain as a fun opportunity for Riley to jump in puddles and carry a cool umbrella,

Sadness liked When the rain made Riley feel soggy, droopy, and shivery.

 

 

 

*Obsess over

Verb ) …에 대해 강박 관념을 갖다.

: you keep thinking about it and find it difficult to think about anything else.

- "Crying helps me slow down and not obsess over the weight of life's problems."
